Quarterly/Annual Update
Posted on March 31, 2009
It has been a long time since I’ve updated- no idea how long actually. Life has had some ups, downs, and everything inbetween.
I’m not sure I’ve posted since Abby was born- how crazy is that? A bunch of milestones have been passed- her little personality is certainly taking shape. She is truly a mix of her mother and I- time will tell the whole story. Julia has a spreadsheet of all the events and the timeline- that is pretty cool. Teeth, sitting up, first word (Light), first steps, first cartwheel, juggling flaming torches- what a great almost 11 months:). We were overly critical of our nephew’s loudness and man has that been repaid in full. What a set of lungs. But, like her mother and father, she is crazy distractable. Abby- “AHHHHHH” (then I say “Daddy”) da da… da da. look something shiny! She is quite the riot- note I didn’t say quiet the riot.
We have much to be thankful for her- only a couple minor illnesses- colds diaper rash etc. and throughout she has been pretty sweet- no fits of rage really. She sleeps so well- since 8 weeks or so she was sleeping through the night- with very few exceptions. To our credit- we have been very rigid with her nightly schedule. We start normally with me giving her a bath, put her in her PJs, give her a bottle, read the Bible together, pray, kisses and the bunny, light music, lights off, one last kiss and… sleep. I’ve taken on 95% of bath time- that has been such a joy. She get so excited- I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
Work has been about the same- I feel the pinch a bit with payments coming later and later. That puts a strain on everything. Clients want the work done yesterday but really aren’t a fan of payment. I have had some of the best months ever during these difficult times, but with 4+ month late payments- a good month loses it’s luster. I’ve had some pretty quiet weeks but God is faithful. I really find out who my good clients are in this climate. Thankfully I have great relationships with my consistent ones- still hang out have lunch etc. That has been uplifting. I will say that God’s timing for my growth is very apparent here- I’m not sure what I’d do (other than go into debt) if I would’ve taken on a full staff and office space. I can float us along pretty well but if I was responsible for other families- shew.
I’ll update projects in another post.
